No matter the sport, almost any player or coach would be happy with a 12-2 record.
For the young men on the Cocalico boys volleyball team and Coach Dwayne Kieffer (photo below), that was the result from last season, and it was good – but they want to go a little farther in 2026.
“I think the biggest takeaway I can take from last year is just trying to get further in the playoffs this year,” said Anthony Cruz-Amaro (left), a senior libero whom his coach says “dominates the backcourt.”
Cocalico girls basketball team is working to build on last year's 12-10 record. The Eagles lost some key scorers from last season, but have veterans returning.
Senior Corinne Fair (top photo) is back. She is one of the league's leading three-point scorers. She hit for 51 last season, averaging 9 points a game, earning second team Section 2 all-star honors.. "I've been working on my 3-point shooting in the off-season, going out and shooting with my dad." Fair's long distance shooting is expected to open some space up underneath the basket.
Hannah Custer is adding to her accolades on the lacrosse field.
The Cocalico senior and University of Richmond commit scored 10 goals in the Eagles' 13-9 victory over Cumberland Valley. The game came a week after Custer scored 3 goals, including the game winner 32 seconds into overtime, in a 9-8 win over Lampeter Strasburg.
